PAS today endorsed Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob's 'Keluarga Malaysia' slogan with special emphasis on Malaysia's diversity and inclusivity.
In a statement today, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said the 'Keluarga Malaysia' concept can ensure stability and urged Malaysians to come together.
"PAS accepts the reality that Malaysia is diverse in terms of ethnicity and religion.
"PAS has introduced a concept that is fair to all, where there is no compulsion in religion and (different religious groups) must help one another.
"This is based on the concept of brotherhood among humans, where we are part of a big family consisting of different ethnic groups and religions," he said.
Hadi said PAS had succeeded in proving that it was fair to all in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah - all states governed by PAS.
Although PAS is part of Ismail Sabri Yaakob's cabinet, this is Hadi's first public acknowledgement of 'Keluarga Malaysia', which was launched on Oct 8 and is based on the values of inclusivity, finding common ground and contentment.
Ties between PAS and Umno, the party that elected Ismail Sabri as its vice-president, might be strained during the Malacca state assembly election as they are components of different coalitions - Perikatan Nasional and BN, respectively.
Umno is expected to decide whether to forge an electoral pact with PN on Oct 28. The Malacca election will take place on Nov 20. - Mkini
