PETALING JAYA: Amanah will field 16 candidates in the upcoming Johor state elections, with the party’s deputy president, Salahuddin Ayub, among the big names contesting.
Salahuddin is hoping to retain his Simpang Jeram seat for a second term, while Johor Amanah chief Aminolhuda Hassan will defend his Parit Yaani state constituency, which he has held for two terms.
In a Facebook post today, Amanah said four of the candidates were women and three were youths.
The party urged Johoreans to go out and cast their ballots on March 12, saying every vote mattered for the state’s future.

- Mat Khairi Samsudin (Sedili)
- Norazila Sanip (Penawar)
- Syed Othman Abdullah (Permas)
- Sulaiman Nor (Kemelah)
- Salahuddin Ayub (Simpang Jeram)
- Nor Hayati Bachok (Maharani)
- Aminolhuda Hassan (Parit Yaani)
- Muhammad Taqiuddin Cheman (Mahkota)
- Dzulkefly Ahmad (Kota Iskandar)
- Suhaizan Kaiat (Pulai Sebatang)
Amanah had previously been allocated 20 seats by Pakatan Harapan, but decided to allow Muda to contest in four of those – Puteri Wangsa, Tenang, Bukit Kepong and Parit Raja. - FMT
