BP Healthcare offers easy Covid-19 screening for air travellers

Representatives from BP Healthcare Group are trained to provide an efficient and seamless service for passengers who opt for Covid19 screening at KLIA and klia2.

PETALING JAYA: With every country implementing strict rules especially for travellers, airports have become the main points to ensure the Covid-19 virus is stopped.

This is why airport screenings have become so important today and is being implemented here in Malaysia.

Fully vaccinated Malaysians have been allowed to travel from Oct 11, 2021, on condition that they undergo testing prior to departure as well as after arriving in the country.

If you have travelled abroad in the last few months, you would have encountered representatives from the BP Healthcare Group at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) ready to serve you at their screening centres.

The healthcare provider was appointed by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) last year and will have five locations in KLIA and three in klia2 to conduct screenings.

BP Healthcare Group offers four types of tests with quick turnaround times, all handled professionally.

BP Healthcare said so far, it has tested more than 100,000 passengers in both airports and is expecting the numbers to increase once borders are fully reopened.

“We have the capacity for 45,000 tests per day, and this is very much in line with the government’s aim of reopening borders safely.

“This also applies for passengers under the Singapore-Malaysia Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) and the Langkawi Travel Bubble (LTB), in which travellers are required to undergo testing at our screening facilities upon arrival in Malaysia in order to enjoy quarantine-free travel,” the healthcare provider said.

BP Healthcare offers four types of tests with fast turnaround time, including a quick RT-PCR test, which will provide results in an hour and a half and is recommended for VTL and LTB passengers, as well as regular RT-PCR tests, which take up to three hours to obtain results.

“The RTK-Antigen test is compulsory for symptomatic passengers, taking only 15 minutes for results, while the antibody test is optional and will take 30 minutes for the results to be out.

BP Healthcare Group’s on-site lab ensures Covid-19 test results are available quickly.

“An added bonus in BP Healthcare’s service is the screening centre at KLIA’s Gate 1, which is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including thermal scanner, on-site laboratory and a comfortable waiting lounge with free WiFi access, portable WiFi rental and SIM card services as well as a food and beverage service,” it said.

The regular PCR test is priced at RM250 for Malaysians and RM350 for foreigners, while the rapid PCR test is priced at RM370 for Malaysians and RM470 for foreigners.

It added that passengers can pre-book their test before arriving in Malaysia via the Doctor2U mobile app or its website, https://airport.doctor2u.my.

Travellers can book their Covid-19 tests at BP Healthcare Group’s registration kiosks in KLIA and klia2.

As for those departing from KLIA or klia2, the test can be taken at the designated screening facilities, while results are available via WhatsApp, email or the Doctor2U App.

The current locations where the testing will be available for arrivals are Gate 1 and Gate 10 (SG-MY VTL) on Level 4 of KLIA, and Gate P4 on Level 2 of klia2.

Testing for departures will be available on Level 5 of KLIA and check-in Counter Z on Level 3 of klia2.

Meanwhile, Enrich users can earn points if they purchase the test from the Doctor2U airport site up till Nov 29.

“Additionally, Touch ‘n Go users will be able to enjoy a RM10 cashback with a minimum spend of RM200 in the e-wallet for purchases made on BP Healthcare’s Mini Programme during the campaign period, which is on from now until May 31,” it noted.
