Mall security guard beaten up in parking dispute

The two suspects were brought to the Ampang Jaya police station to give their statements.

PETALING JAYA: Two men are alleged to have assaulted a Nepali security guard after he told them not to park their motorcycle in front of a shopping mall entrance.

The men, in their early 30s, ignored the guard after they parked their motorcycle and went on with their business.

However, upon returning to their motorcycle, they assaulted the guard following an argument, according to Ampang Jaya police chief Farouk Eshak.

“The complainant received treatment at Hospital Ampang after sustaining injury to his left eye and nose,” he said.

A recording of the incident, which took place at Pandan Capital mall yesterday, went viral on social media.

It showed a man, believed to be from the mall management, scolding the duo for beating the 41-year-old guard.

“The management called the police and we brought the two suspects to the station to record their statements,” Farouk said, adding that they were being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt. - FMT
