Sri Lanka is in deep shit. The government is almost bankrupt. They have no money to pay for fuel (for electricity generation) so there is no 24/7 electricity supply in Sri Lanka anymore.
The Sri Lankan civil war ended 12 years ago. It was actually a "ketuanan Sinhala/Buddha" war because Sinhalese/Buddhist majority Sri Lanka implemented racially discriminatory policies against the Tamils who not only make up 25% of the population but they also run huge chunks of the Sri Lankan economy.
The racial discrimination policies in economics, politics and everything else has caused the sri Lankan economy great losses.
In the following video the Sri Lankan Member of Parliament frequently refers to Sinhala/Buddhism. His original Sinhala pronunciation may be alien to Malaysian listeners.
This is a fantastic speech - a confession of stupidity, a word which the speaker uses once in his speech. Tuan-Tuan mesti dengar.
