JOHOR POLLS | Youth-based party Muda will use its own logo instead of Pakatan Harapan's in the upcoming Johor election.
This will mean that there will be three logos contesting under the Harapan electoral pact.
In an interview with Sinar Harian, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the party will use its own logo to help establish itself during their first electoral outing.
"This is our first election, and we admit that we are the underdog, and we want to offer the best service and new policies as the opposition, or God willing, as the future government.
"But a solid, honourable, principled, opposition with integrity will always defend the people's issues in the state assembly.
"That is why we are using Muda's logo and identity," he said.
The only parties using the Harapan logo in the Johor polls are DAP and Amanah. PKR is also using its own logo.
Muda has secured six seats to contest in after negotiations with DAP and Amanah.
However, negotiations with PKR broke down and there is no indication that opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's party gave up any of the 20 seats they were allocated.
Besides Harapan and Muda, the Johor election will also feature BN, Perikatan Nasional, Pejuang, and possibly Sabah-based Warisan.
Johor will go to the polls on March 12. - Mkini
