PBM latest to adopt anti-graft psychometric test before Johor polls

JOHOR POLLS | Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) will ensure its candidates for the upcoming Johor election pass an anti-corruption psychometric test as recommended by the Rasuah Busters movement.

PBM deputy president Haniza Mohamed Talha said that this was in line with voters’ aspirations of wanting clean and accountable leaders.

"Johor will be PBM's maiden election and we want our candidates to be clean and corruption-free so that they can carry out their duties with utmost responsibility should they get elected," she said in a statement today.

The Lembah Jaya assemblyperson, who was elected under the PKR banner, added that the move will not only help enhance the integrity of all potential candidates but also help create better leaders.

A psychometric test is designed to measure cognitive ability and indicates the potential of a candidate to excel in a specific position or career.

PBM will contest two seats

On Thursday, PBM information chief Zakaria Abdul Hamid said that the party would be contesting two seats in the March 12 polls.

"PBM will announce the seats it will be contesting and the names of the candidates before the Feb 26 nomination day," he added.

According to Zakaria, the Johor polls will be the best platform for the party to introduce its "Great Reset 2030" agenda, which includes six main pillars.

Rasuah Busters strategic liaison officer Wan Normi Hasan said the readiness of the Selangor PBM leadership makes them the third political party after Bersatu and Pejuang prepared to carry out the test on the party's leadership or election candidates.

On Thursday, Pejuang president Mukhriz Mahathir said the decision to take the test was to ensure that its candidates are clean and not involved in corruption activities apart from having a high level of credibility. - Mkini
