PETALING JAYA: Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) is targeting four urban seats in the upcoming Johor polls, according to a source.
Of the four, two are the Tiram and Puteri Wangsa seats, which fall under the parliamentary constituency of Tebrau.
The source said the two seats were chosen because PBM vice-president Steven Choong is the serving Tebrau MP and this will help the party machinery there in facing the polls.
The Puteri Wangsa seat gained traction when Amanah, whose member is the assemblyman there, handed over the constituency to Muda.
Muda previously announced that its secretary-general, Amira Aisya Abd Aziz, will be contesting the Puteri Wangsa seat.
The seat is a non-Malay majority seat, where about 50% of the voters are Chinese, followed by Malays (39%), Indians (10%) and others (1%).
Meanwhile, the source said that the PBM candidate who will be contesting in the area “is not necessarily a young person but is quite well-known and able to provide the best services to the people”.
“This election is the best platform for the party to introduce its agenda known as ‘The Great Reset 2030’, which comprises six main pillars.”
When contacted, PBM election director Haniza Talha said that no decision had been made yet on the seats or candidates. - FMT
