JOHOR BHARU: Warisan is throwing its hat into the ring in the upcoming Johor state elections, its president Shafie Apdal confirmed tonight.
However, Shafie said his party was not looking to form the government in Johor.
“Our focus is on forming the federal government,” he said when launching the party’s Johor chapter.
Last month, Shafie said the Sabah-based party – which officially spread its wings to the peninsula on Dec 17 – has many supporters in Pasir Gudang and Johor Bahru, where many Sabahans and Sarawakians reside.
Johor will go to the polls on March 12 with early voting taking place on March 8, and nomination day set for Feb 26.
