PETALING JAYA: Bersatu’s Eddin Syazlee Shith has been dropped as Negeri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional chief and will be replaced by Ahmad Faizal Azumu, the party’s deputy president.
The Star reported Negeri Sembilan PN secretary Nazree Yunus as confirming this after a note purportedly written by Eddin thanking his committee for their support went viral.
Separately, Sinar Harian reported Nazree as saying that the state PN leadership had been informed of the decision to drop Eddin at a meeting last night.
“He (Eddin) accepted it with an open heart,” Nazree was quoted as saying.
Eddin won the Kuala Pilah parliamentary seat, under the Pakatan Harapan ticket, with a slim majority of 200 votes, in the 14th general election.
The former deputy minister however lost the seat to Barisan Nasional’s Adnan Abu Hassan in the nationwide polls last year. - FMT
