RM95 meal takes cyberspace by storm, but what is your take on it?

MALAYSIANS have always been spoiled for food. That fact is about to be reinforced once again by a video post on X by Datuk Jahat Hensem which showed a new and unique menu by a cook called Mami.

Called Set Talam Akil Ayam Seekor, the portion of the meal was so huge it could only fit on a tray.

Apparently, it consists of one portion Nasi Briyani and one portion Nasi Melayu. She began heaping ingredients into it, first a lamb shank, a handful or acar, then three eggs, and a bowl of goat curry.

One whole chicken completes the dish, which according to Mami was what gave the signature dish its name.

Sizing up the portion, the narrator in the video guessed the price of the dish at RM120. Mami, however, shocks him by stating that it only cost RM95.

Looking through the comments, we could imagine a good deal of netizen lining up in the near future to try out her unique Set Talam Akil Ayam Seekor.

Netizen sikit sikit sudah made some computations, stating that the meal was well worth the price at RM95, at about only RM19 if shared by five diners.

A satisfied netizen who recently bought the Akil set said the rice portion was huge, needing two days to finish it. Apparently she had visited the stall again only to find a long line there.

One helpful netizen said the stall in question was located in Kampung Melayu Subang. He added that another similar stall in Chenderiang may be owned by her uncle.

Spurred by the topic on food, another netizen suggested that Melakans can try the Kari Kambing Hydreabad at Batu Berendam. Apparently it was delicious and cheap while the portion was generous, and best eaten by many.

With all the mouth-watering goodies jam-packed in that video, we can only breathe a sigh of relief now that lunch hour is around the corner.

As for Mami, we wish her the very best in her business. Hopefully this video could spur more people to go creative and further add to the already burgeoning culinary experience that makes us proud Malaysians. – Focus Malaysia
