PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is taking action on a Facebook group believed to be for sharing photographs of schoolgirls in their baju kurung school uniforms.
The private group, said to have about 6,100 members, was flagged on X (formerly Twitter) by a user who urged the commission to take action.
“MCMC takes note of this and is in the process of taking further action,” the commission said in a brief post.
FMT has sought further comment from MCMC.
The Facebook group is said to have been created in May 2021. Its description states that the group is for members to share content of girls in baju kurung school uniforms.
Other social media users expressed disgust and concern at the group since it already had more than 6,000 members. They also urged the MCMC and police to apprehend the members. - FMT
