MyDigital ID login for JPJ app is a no-go, says Loke

Loke Siew Fook
Transport minister Loke Siew Fook said users can continue using the MyJPJ app as usual.

PETALING JAYA
Users can continue to access the MyJPJ app without having to log in using their MyDigital ID account after Oct 10, says the transport ministry.

Minister Loke Siew Fook clarified that the recent pop-up notice on the MyJPJ app was not an official announcement.

I have already instructed that the pop-up notice be removed, as no decision has been made by the ministry,
he told a last-minute press conference at Putrajaya today.

Loke said he held discussions with representatives from MyDigital ID today, during which they agreed on the necessity of seamlessly integrating the digital identification system with the MyJPJ app through backend processes.

We will take time for backend integration to ensure pre-approval can be processed more easily, allowing users to download My Digital ID more quickly and efficiently,
 he said.

Loke also said the integration is an eventual matter, but assured the public that the MyJPJ app will remain operational as usual.

We will monitor the developments and make announcements from time to time to ensure a more straightforward and secure login in the future,
 he said.

The now-removed pop-up notice stated that users would be required to log into the MyJPJ app using MyDigital ID starting Oct 10.

The announcement, however, has sparked mixed reactions among Malaysians, with some questioning why the identification system is compulsory when the MyDigital ID mobile app often freezes or lags. - FMT
