PETALING JAYA: Investment, trade and industry minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz said Putrajaya had never hindered potential investments in Kedah, in response to claims by menteri besar Sanusi Nor.
Rather, the federal government had brought in a lot of investments to the northern state, Tengku Zafrul said.
In a Facebook post, Tengku Zafrul cited the RM2.16 billion Hyundai Motor planned to invest in Kulim.
“Hyundai Motor plans to assemble cars, including electric vehicles (EV) in Kulim.”
Tengku Zafrul’s Facebook post follows a claim by Sanusi of a “grand design” to sabotage private investments in the state.
Sanusi’s claim follows the decision by Bin Zayed International Group of Companies (BZI) to withdraw from the RM40 billion Langkasuka project in Langkawi.
However, he refused to reveal details of such plots, nor did he identify those behind the alleged attempts. - FMT
