Anthony Loke - first experience |
Five parang-wielding robbers broke into the home of DAP Youth Chief Anthony Loke in the wee hours of the morning, tied him and his elderly parents up and then carted away about RM3,000 in cash, a TV set, his laptop, Blackberry phone and some liquor.
"They barged into my bedroom and switched on the lights. They pounced on me and tied me up. My mother and father, who are in their 70s and were sleeping in another room, were also rudely awakened and brought to to my room," Anthony said on Monday
The Rasah MP estimates his total losses at around RM10,000-00. This is the first time he has personally experienced such a break-in.
Not politically-motivated
He is still not sure if the robbers were foreign or local and has already lodged a police report.
“I don’t think the robbery was politically motivated," Malaysiakini reported him as saying.
His family was rudely awakened at around 4am by the robbers, who cut through the front door lock. After tying him and his parents, the robbers ransacked his home and fled after some 30 minutes.
Loke’s mother managed to free herself and then rescued Anthony and his father.
