Nazri assures RPK will be safe if he returns to Malaysia

IS NAZRI SO SURE? RPK HAS BEEN REVEALING 'RAHSIA' DOCUMENTS OF MACC INVESTIGATION PAPERS TO THE PUBLIC AND COULD BE HELD ON ARRIVAL AT KLIA UNDER OSA OR ISA.

FURTHERMORE, RPK IS A 'FUGITIVE' AND DO YOU THINK HE WILL BE ALLOWED IN WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS ?

ITS BEST FOR RPK TO REMAIN WHERE HE IS FOR THE MOMENT AND CONTINUE TO LET THE MALAYSIANS KNOW HOW OUR GOVERNMENT IS CARRYING ITS JUSTICE.

RPK- will he agree or will he say Bah! Humbug!

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Aziz gave an assurance of safety for controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin should he decide to return to Malaysia.

“Why did he run away? Just like the Thai witness pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand for the Teoh Beng Hock case, she claimed her life was under threat but she came and returned safely,” Malaysiakini reported Nazri as telling a press conference.

"This fear is just an excuse to not cooperate. Malaysia is not a banana republic."

Come home and face the charges

The 60-year old Raja Petra, also known by his initials RPK, is the editor of the Malaysia Today portal.

He cut bail in 2009 fearing that Prime Minister Najib Razak might lock him up under the country's draconian Internal Security Act, which allows for detention for indefinite periods without trial.

He is now believed to living in England. Ironically, in another part of Europe, in Brussels, Najib was unveiling to reporters the launch of Talent Corporation due to become operational in January 2011.

The purpose of the latest government agency is to locate and woo back talented Malaysians working abroad. Nevertheless, pundits have said many Malaysians left not just because of economic or even educational reasons. They were unhappy with the repressive society where many of the non-Malays feel they are second-class citizens due to the government's pro-Malay polices.

Meanwhile, Nazri expressed hope that Raja Petra would share his 'information' with the authorities.

“I hope he can help us.. I would prefer if he comes back and faces the charges against him, play the game according to the rules,” he said.

RPK faces several charges including criminal defamation. He has been a thorn in the flesh of the Najib administration with his startling revelations that have often hit bulls-eye, exposing high-level government corruption.

Recently, RPK also expressed a wish to come home and demanded that the government issue him a passport and guaranteed his safety and that of his family should they decide to return.
