Anwar to name the Pakatan candidate for Batu Sapi this evening

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim will announce the Pakatan Rakyat's candidate for the Batu Sapi by-election this evening at a function in Sandakan.

Other Pakatan leaders will also be present including PAS president Hadi Awang and DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang.

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee, who is also a former Sabah chief minister, has already declared his candidacy, while the BN's PBS has said it will field another Chinese member to replace Edmund Chong, the late Batu Sapi MP who died in a bike crash earlier this month.

Batu Sapi is a Muslim majority seat with also significant Chinese and KDM population.
