Tenang is Umno Johor private affairs!

'Other states should stay away this time around. Let it be Umno Johor private affairs. We dont want too many people coming to Tenang'.

I heard this from a govt official. Later on, I checked it out with 3 friends who serve different ministers. And they confirmed it.

There was a 'directive' from Johor State Umno Liaison Committee to other states not to take part (or interfere) in Tenang state seat by-election to be held on January 30. I wouldnt believe it if it comes from one source but I think this people whom I met and called are not liars.

Unlike Galas state seat by-election, Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election and all previous by-elections which saw participation from all Umno states, Tenang is an 'all-Johor affairs'. I dont know how its chief Ghani Osman had arrived at the decision.

I think Prime Minister Najib, his deputy Muhyiddin (from Johor), Hisham (from Johor too), Khalid (another Johorian) are aware of it. To me, Johor is over-confident. Otherwise, they wouldnt have 'chased away' friends from other states.

Who's instruction was it? The MB? Or DPM?

I am of the opinion that it was quite unbecoming of Umno Johor to ignore assistance from other states. What is so supreme about Umno Johor that they have to turn away their friends from the same party?

I just hope they can secure a win and a bigger majority in Tenang.

I do not wish to comment any further as I could be accused of trying to provide ammo to the Opposition. Nevertheless, I just want to say one thing - Umno does not belong to a single state or a single leader!
