Mustafa stays sec-gen, Hasan Ali dropped as S'gor chief

KUALA LUMPUR - The first post-Muktamar meeting held by the newly elected Central Committee has completed the new PAS line up, retaining veteran PAS leader Mustafa Ali (pic) as its secretary general.

The meeting, chaired today by PAS president Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang, also saw three deputy secretary-generals picked, namely Takiyuddin Hassan, Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi and Ahmad Sabki Yusuf.

Dr Hatta Ramli, who was party treasurer, has been appointed as Central PAS Election director. The new treasurer is Abdul Halim Abd Rahman.

Former PAS vice president, who is also Pahang PAS commissioner, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, has been appointed as the new information chief, replacing Idris Ahmad.

Idris Ahmad and former deputy president Nasharudin Mat Isa join five others to boost the elected committee members, including Asmuni Awi, Anuar Tahir, Nizar Jamaluddin, Zulkifli Mohammad Omar and Abang Ahmad Kerdee Masagus.

"We have decided unanimously on these appointments," Hadi told pressmen at the PAS headquarters, adding that the appointments took effect immediately.

Meanwhile, five new PAS state commissioners have been appointed. They include Abdul Wahid Endut for Terengganu, Mohd Taufek Abdul Ghani for Negeri Sembilan, Dr Abd Rani Osman for Selangor, Adly Zahari for Melaka and Aminuddin Halim for Sabah.

Kedah - Azizan Abdul Razak
