Reveal 2002 travel details(show your passport), PKR tells Najib

PKR wants Datuk Seri Najib Razak to come clean on his travel destinations in 2002, claiming that it would shed some light into a trip made by the prime minister’s associates which was “connected” with the Scorpene submarine deal.

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail told a press conference that it had now been established that the RM6.27 billion deal between the Malaysian government and French company DCNS was brokered by Najib’s close associates, including his one-time adviser Abdul Razak Baginda and Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) chief Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin.

Saifuddin (picture)charged that Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram) had revealed that Abdul Razak, the late Mongolian model Altantuya Shariibuu and an unknown third person had travelled to Macau in connection with the submarine deal.

“One of them is already dead, one has been charged in court. One more is still alive and could be holding a high position... we don’t know, but we will know when the trial starts,” he said today.

Suaram’s suit in a French court over the controversial Scorpene deal will soon enter the full trial stage, which could see top government officials, including Prime Minister Najib being asked to testify.

It is understood that the group’s December 2009 suit against DCNS, the French makers of the Scorpene submarine, was nearing the end of its inquiry stage and its lawyers in France were confident they had enough evidence to move into full trial.

Suaram’s case questions the alleged payment of €114 million (RM500 million) in commission to Perimekar Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of KS Ombak Laut Sdn Bhd, of which the wife of Abdul Razak is a principal shareholder.

Despite PKR’s claims that a trip had been made by Abdul Razak, Altantuya and an unknown person to Macau in connection with the Scorpene deal, Suaram did not disclose the places the trio visited nor did it indicate who the mystery third person could be.
