Tian Chua says did not send email on sex video

An email sent out to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders yesterday “confirming” the identity of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a widely circulated sex video was not sent by PKR information chief Chua Tian Chang as the email indicated.

Chua, better known as Tian Chua, said the email sent at 6pm was by an impersonator using a fake email address, tianchua@rocketmail.com.

“Last night, a lot of Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen received an email as if it was from me, with my name, which says that I believe the actor in the sex video is Anwar and Pakatan Rakyat rejects Anwar as a person with morals. This clearly is a lowly act which is immoral, unethical, more importantly this shows that Barisan Nasional is so desperate to the point of having someone impersonate me,” Chua (picture) said.

The email said “The video taken from 4 angles and it’s hard to deny that it wasn’t anwar. In order to stand firm on integrity of our vision, it is unacceptable to protect any wrongdoing moral of our members in Pakatan Rakyat. Therefore, i urge all the pakatan leaders from PKR, DAP and PAS as well to insist police to reveal who is the actor in the video.”

The email included a link to the full version of the sex video as well.

The Batu MP said impersonating an assemblyman and sending out emails to other assemblymen was a criminal offence.

He said he will lodge a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) either later today or tomorrow.

“This is a serious matter and it is not impossible to find the source. I hope first of all that MCMC will take stern action to find this criminal,” he said.

Chua claimed the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) was behind it although he did not provide any evidence or elaborate further on his accusation.

“BN has reached gutter politics, lowest of the lowest. This is really an act of desperation.

“I once again call upon the police to immediately announce the progress of the investigation and arrest the few individuals who have been going around circulating the videos.

“Thousands of videos have been sent out to the public and no action from the police. This can only make me conclude that the police conspire with Umno and those gutter individuals to defame Anwar Ibrahim and be part of the political plot to undermine Pakatan Rakyat,” Chua said.
