BERSIH 4.0 ~ Why it's different from Ambiga's 1,2.3...

I received an sms asking me to head on to Restoran Sekinchan Ikan Bakar's Jalan Pahang outlet as the Jalan TAR's Petty Traders Action Front were having a press conference to explain the reasons why they had taken the initiative to counter the disruptive BERSIH protests and work towards seeking compensation from Ambiga Sreenevasan & her associates for losses they had suffered during those protests!


I arrived in the midst of the press conference because of my other commitments. There were a phalanx of cameramen covering the event and several reporters who were throwing questions at Datuk Jamal Md Yunus, the President of the said Jalan TAR Petty Traders Action Front asking whether he was associated with UMNO etc.?

From the replies that Datuk Jamal gave, it was obvious that he and his fellow traders had just about enough with the disruptions that the BERSIH 1,2 & 3 protests had caused to his and their businesses. 

It was the Malaysiakini reporters who were the most aggressive in their grilling of the Sekinchan Ikan Bakar boss! From the way they were putting one question after another to their chosen target, it was clear that they had been trained well by Malaysiakini to ask really hard probing questions that would cause any ordinary Ahmad, Ah Seng or Samy to spill the beans 'so to speak!'


The Chinese reporters diligently stayed on and immediately started getting online to email their feed to their respective editors! Do we even have to wonder why the Chinese dailies are so up to date with their news reporting? Its because of their media staff like the ones in the photo below! Damn hardworking!

Back to the Malaysiakini Chinese Desk reporter's grilling of the 'Petty Traders Chifu'. The man deftly countered each and every question thrown to him like a pro he is! 


Datuk Jamal Md Yunus is no simple petty trader! He was able to hold his own and answered each question thrown to him with the deftness and suave of a real professional business tycoon! 


The man owns and operates 22 outlets of Sekinchan Ikan Bakar and also a luxury automobile dealership! He is not someone whom the media could just fry and grill as they pleased. He was forthright in his answers and also generous at the same time.

I saw that the media personnel had all been treated to his delicious grilled fish and have had their meals and drinks. That's the mark of a big hearted man. 


Good to see an up and coming Malaysian business entrepreneur who has all the markings of being a successful corporate business tycoon who has not forgotten his roots or got too big for his breeches. Well done Datuk Jamal! Syabas!!!


He was so damn humble in his speech and kept repeatedly saying that he was just a simple petty trader who didn't know about the laws and was just organizing a counter protest against Ambiga and her cohorts to let her have a taste of her own medicine when her BERSIH protests caused so much disruption and inconvenience not to forget the huge losses to the trade owners operating in KL!


When I interviewed him later, I advised him to please stop putting himself down by saying he doesn't know this or that? Who is he trying to fool? He is definitely a street smart businessman for knowing how and ways to operate so many of his successful grilled fish restaurants all over the Klang Valley and running a surely lucrative imported car dealership!

The man's so rich that he can afford to put up a 1.2 million ringgits worth Lamborghini and a luxurious BMW as lucky draw grand prizes for their BERSIH 4.0 Cintakan Keamanan Facebook members where the first such draw will take place once the FB membership hits their initial target of 150,000 members mark and then when it reaches the 1,000,000 members mark the grand prize which would be the Lamborghini car !!! Fuyoo!!!

Nothing's petty when it involves such luxurious cars as special prizes for those who go and dine at any of his 22 Sekinchan Ikan Bakar outlets, retain their minimum RM50 spent receipts and take part in the lucky draw run by his BERSIH 4.0 program! Datuk Jamal promises a 30% discount off on every RM50 spent! That's a discount of RM15! Talk about being a cunning businessman! :)

In a way, his BERSIH 4.0 is way much more better than Ambiga's BERSIH 1,2 & 3! 


What did she achieve? Nothing! Not even a nostril hair of Najib fell off as a result of her disruptive useless protests! Instead of waiting to vote for whomsoever they please in the next GE, all those who took part in those protests have nothing to be proud of as a result of their participating in such stupid demonstrations!


I learned that the traders were going to hand over a memorandum to Ambiga today in front of her residence at Jalan Setiakasih1, Bukit Damansara!


Some of them plan to inconvenience her by setting up a street market today in the afternoon. Sort of an 'OCCUPY SETIAKASIH1 BUKIT DAMANSARA' huh?
