YOURSAY 'They know only one way - abuse their power, making use of the public agencies like the AG's Office, police and MACC, to stop and frustrate the opposition.'
Bersih 3.0: Anwar, Azmin slapped with new charge
Ferdtan: The fear of losing power has so paralysed BN that they cannot think straight. They cannot debate intelligently to win the hearts and minds of the rakyat.
They know only one way - abuse their power, making use of the public agencies like the Attorney General's Office, police and MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) to stop and frustrate the opposition.
They even outsourced thugs in the name of 'nationalist' NGOs to harass and intimidate whoever in their eyes are opposed to BN's policies.
Bersih 2.0 co-chairperson S Ambiga yesterday received an e-mailwarning her that two gangsters were hired to 'terminate' her.
Is this the culture of Umno? Why has our politics come down to such low? And worse still, why has our prime minister remained mum?
By being silent, he is giving a wrong signal - a tacit approval to the gangsters.
Multi Racial: The charging of three PKR leaders for their involvement in Bersih 3.0 t is pure stupidity on the part of Umno and the authorities. They just gave Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim more sympathy votes.
Odin: Why until now has none of the police officers without identification tags who beat up the participants of Bersih 3.0 been identified and charged?
Why a line-up has still not been conducted for the journalist who had been beaten up to identify the police officers involved?
Many other things where the government was seemingly culpable have not been done, although more than two months has passed. But when it comes to the dissenters and the opposition, the government is very quick to move in.
Truly, the BN government is the absolute pits, while PM Najib Razak, controlled by his puppeteer former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, is nothing more than a tailor's dummy - a mere plastic (read: false) shell containing nothing inside. Absolutely nothing.
Anonymous_40dc: We now know that election will not be before Sept 3. It is abundantly clear that Umno-BN is desperate to disqualify Anwar from standing for election.
Umno-BN is scared to face the general election and lose power. They are looking for ways and means to disqualify Anwar. To the Umno-BN strategists - don't think that this is a smart move. It'll backfire.
Kgen: So what is this Peaceful Assembly Act good for except to show up Najib's ‘false democrat' face? Even Burma allows their citizens the right to assemble peacefully.
Amen: Crazy? The video clearly shows Anwar asking for the barricades to be broken and he said the charge was a political persecution against him.
He had deliberately asked for the barricade to be breached knowing there would be injuries or even death to those who did it. Despicable man.
Dumb&Deaf: Najib and his Umno have become more obnoxious and desperate, the more they feel about their inability to retain power beyond GE13.
Which gives voters even more compelling reasons to bid good riddance to bad rubbish at the polls. Only a handful of diehard Anwar-haters could possibly view this latest farce as a clever strategy.
The rest of us are driven to imagine increasingly harsher punishments for those who so arrogantly abuse their power and privilege.
CiViC: Will Umno never learn? Do they have to make it so obvious?
Don't they realise they are actually making it worse for themselves? People don't bother about Anwar or PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, it's the growing hate and disgust of Umno and BN that will bring down the ruling regime.
Anyway, let it be, at least then there's a little hope for Malaysia.
Green Mutant: This is a dying Umno, clutching onto a few blades of grass. This is good news indeed. Desperate people often resort to extreme measures just to stay alive.
Let this GE13 be the final nail into the Umno-BN coffin. With or without DSAI (Anwar), we will vote ABU (Anything but Umno).
Sa Tombs: Of course, they must persecute and prostitute themselves to gain brownie points with Umno.
When City Hall enforcement officers can close down all businesses operating from houses in Jalan Telawi, Bangsar, how is it that Raja Nong Chick is allowed to open a service centre without City Hall batting an eyelid.
We lesser mortals have to face the wrath of the law enforcers but Umno members can flout the law with impunity.
Does it not remind you of the famous saying, "All men are equal but some are more equal than others"?
I Love Scorpene Saga: Well, the BN and its cohorts are running out of video and actresses.

It is still looking for a charge to nail DSAI and team vehemently. Time is running out and BN is like a drowning man holding on to whatever twigs and roots they can grasp to stay afloat.
Cantabrigian: If Anwar can be charged with abetting people to break the Dataran Merdeka barricade, then Najib can and should also be charged with the abetment of police violence during Bersih 3.0.
And Scorpene. And Altantuya. And Teoh Beng Hock. And NFC. And PKFZ. And the list goes on forever. People living in glass houses should not throw C4. - Malaysiakini
