VEGETATION..... sewerage treatment plant covered with vegetation.
THE PEOPLE in Putatan complained to the Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Hiew King Cheu during to his visit here about the sewerage treatment plant which has been malfunctioned for a long time and no body attended to the problem. This is in the middle of Kg Sipanggil and just next to the Majid As-Sobirin serving the whole area.
It is overgrown with thick vegetation and grass like a little forest, and the raw foul water is overflowing into the road side drain emitting bad smell. The whole place looked abandoned for a long time, and the people said they cannot use their toilets always because the situation is getting worst.
MP Hiew immediately inspected the sewerage treatment plant with the Sabah DAP team comprising of Edward Ewol Mujie, Raphael Ang, Andrew Lee and Robert Raja with other members. He said this looks bad and it definitely has been neglected for a long time and the equipment had been vandalized and stolen. The place is not locked and it seems someone is using the place as a hide out.
The treatment plant is not being terminated for use by the look of it, because the sewerage water is still flowing into the drains. Therefore, it is not clear why the authorities like the Putatan District Council and the JKR did not come to attend to the problems here and just leave it to continue.
Hiew wants them to come to repair, refurbish, and maintain the sewerage treatment plant without delay. The authorities should not ignore the complaints of the people. The people in Putatan are getting very angry now. (DAP Media)
