Tanah Merah MP Amran Ab Ghani today revealed how he and seven other PKR parliamentarians were allegedly approached by individuals who wanted them to leave their party en masse to help BN regain its two-thirds majority.
"This was when Najib was about to become prime minister. They offered us RM10 million initially, but later increased it to RM20 million per person.
"But it was a package. You will only get the RM20 million each only if all eight agreed," Amran told a press conference in Shah Alam today.
"Ten million ringgit was purportedly to buy a warehouse, which would be rented out with the rental as income.

"The other RM10 million was for us to bring our families to live in Indonesia for two years or so, so that by the time we returned, our constituents would not be that angry anymore."
'Offer especially attractive'
Amran described the offer as especially "attractive" because those who jumped ship would not have to join ruling coalition, only having to become a BN-friendly Independent MPs.
He explained that they were told that this was allegedly for BN to regain its two-thirds majority in Parliament, in line with the efforts to overthrow the Pakatan-led Perak government in early 2009.
However, the Tanah Merah MP said that he does not have firm evidence of the "cross-over meeting", except for what he could relate.

He also conceded that his claim could well be disputed by those involved.
A few of those who were approached he added, have since left PKR to become Independent MPs.
Amran spoke at a press conference organised by Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, who also brought along Loh Gwo-Burne (Kelana Jaya) and Aziz Kadir (Ketereh)
Both Aziz and Loh (left) confirmed that they too were approached by certain individuals who had allegedly asked them to quit PKR.
Aziz related how he was approached several times by former PKR member Zamil Ibrahim, but said that he declined to have further meetings with Zamil.
Loh told how he, along with PKR Indera Mahkota MP Azan Ismail, went to a meeting where several of them were allegedly offered RM5 million each to jump ship.
Khalid said that while they only have video proof of one of the meetings, all the claims jived with the attempts made by the BN to buy out Pakatan MPs.
The Shah Alam MP has held several press conferences to expose what he calls a blatant attempt by the BN to subvert democracy and buy out Pakatan MP.
