(Bernama) - The KITA party today sought clarification from Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng (pic) over allegations that his former staff owned a luxurious house in Jalan Chemor, Georgetown.
The RM1.8 million two and a half storey property was not commensurate with the salary of a staff at the chief minister's office, claimed Kedah KITA treasurer H'ng Sau Ping at a press conference in the party's office here.
"The rental in this area is about RM3,500 per month and surely the staff cannot afford to live there on just the salary," said H'ng.
"As a citizen I have a right to know the truth and demand an honest answer from Lim on this matter as he constantly says DAP is transparent," he added.
Meanwhile, Kedah PKR former chairman, Zamil Ibrahim who was also present at the press conference expressed confidence on the accuracy of H'ng's information, claiming the source had links to the opposition coalition.
