Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak did not turn up at his Hari Raya Open House at his own official Seri Mentaloon residence yesterday.
According to a report by New Straits Times, Azizan failed to show up as he was facing an allergic reaction to one of his medications.
The report quoted state housing and investment committee chairperson Amiruddin Hamzah as saying that Azizan was on leave due to health problems.
However, he denied that Azizan was facing a serious illness.
"Although, the menteri besar was feeling unwell during the last few days of Ramadan, he had performed his tasks and responsibilities.
"It was only on Wednesday that he took leave to rest until he recovers from his illness.
"There is nothing serious and I am confident that he will return to office by next Wednesday," he was quoted as saying.
The 72-year-old Menteri Besar is also Sungai Limau state assemblyperson.
