The Kuala Lumpur High Court has today required lawyers representing Anwar Ibrahim and his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan to file their agreed facts and issues to be tried.
Following this, Justice Su Geok Yiam has fixed Sept 12 for further case management.
The matter came up today before Justice Su for case management as this is the first time the case had been brought before her.
Anwar had filed a defamation suit in 2008 against Saiful over the former aide’s claims of being sodomised.
The opposition leader has been acquitted by the Kuala Lumpur High Court of sodomising Saiful last Jan 9.
The prosecution has filed an appeal over the acquittal.
Saiful was today represented by lawyer Zamri Idrus while Adeline Yew appeared for Anwar.
