Thousands braved the rain today in Senawang in a show of support for political change in the country.
Eyewitnesses estimated the crowd at “tens of thousands” for the event dubbed ‘Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat’ (People’s Awakening Gathering) at Senawang, a satellite town 7km from Seremban. Azmin Ali estimated the turnout at more than 30000.
Umbrellas popped open as the rain pelted down. But then it cleared.

In the 2008 general election, the BN won 21 state seats in Negri Sembilan against the Pakatan’s 15 (DAP – 10; PKR – 4, Pas – 1). The BN also clinched five of the eight parliamentary seats up for grabs in state.
