The husband of Malaysian songbird Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin sustained a broken shoulder, and injuries in the hands and legs when he fell off the machine while avoiding a piece of wood on the highway.
His niece confirmed the crash which occurred about 12.30pm (Malaysian time) when contacted by Bernama tonight. She declined to be identified.
She said Datuk K was reported to be stable at the hospital in Queenstown, a resort town in Otago in south-west New Zealand’s South Island.
She said Datuk K was in Queenstown to attend to business matters, adding that Siti Nurhaliza and the singer’s sister-in-law, Datin Zaiton Mohammad Jiwa, would depart for New Zealand tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Siti Nurhaliza, via Twitter, apologised to her fans in Banjarmasin, Indonesia that she was forced to cancel her “Konsert Ekspresi Karya Gemilang” tonight as a result of the accident. – Bernama
Berita duka untuk Datuk Siti Nurhaliza hari ini apabila suaminya Datuk Khalid Mohamad Jiwa atau lebih dikenali sebagai Datuk K telah mengalami kemalangan jalan raya di Queenstown, New Zealand.
Kemalangan yang berlaku kira-kira jam1 tengahari tadi Khamis (5petang, New Zealand) telah menyebabkan Datuk K mengalami kecederaan pada tangan dan kaki serta bahu beliau juga telah patah.
Adik kepada Datuk K iaitu Datin Zaiton Mohamad Jiwa mengatakan bahawa akan berangkat ke New Zealand pada hari Jumaat (esok) bersama Datuk Siti Nurhaliza untuk melihat keadaan Datuk K disana.
Datuk Siti Nurhaliza terpaksa membatalkan konsert yang bakal berlangsung di Banjarmasin, Indonesia.
