The feud between two retired top cops - former Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Ramli Yusuff and ex-police chief Musa Hassan - has escalated.
Upping the ante today, Musa urged Ramli to explain how he had amassed “enormous wealth” during his service.
“He should answer. How could he obtain such enormous wealth when he was still in the (police) force? I don't have such enormous wealth. He needs to answer,” Musa (right in photo) insisted at a press conference in Petaling Jaya today.

Following this, pro-Umno blogger Zakir Mohamad, better known by his nom de plume Bigdogdotcom, asked Musa if Ramli could have amassed wealth by involving himself with "undesirable" people.
“This is hard to answer. Those who are wealthy in that manner have some links. I can only answer like that.
“In the police force, most police officers follow the rules. Those who live beyond their means have certain reasons. It is not nice or me to say.”
In a blog-post, Zakir claimed that Ramli had filed a declaration on Sept 4, 2007, listing 52 assets worth over RM8 million, including a condominium in Pavillion Residence valued at RM1.1 million.

Ramli's no 'white knight'
Musa also claimed that Ramli has influence over the current IGP Ismail Omar.
“I also want to know who is behind him until he was given the platform to attack me, as if he is the white knight, the saviour of police force, while I am the black knight who damaged the police,” he replied sarcastically when asked to comment on Ramli's allegation.
“Why link me with only one (underworld) kingpin? There are so many underworld kingpins. It is stupid of me to work with only one. If there are 10, I should work with all 10 so I can become the richest man in the world.”
Although Musa did not state it explicitly, he was likely to be referring to Ramli's official retirement ceremony which took place in Bukit Aman, the national police headquarters.
While as the head of the CCID, Ramli faced several graft charges. The retirement ceremony was only in November, many months after he was acquitted of all charges.
In his farewell speech, Ramli had hit out at Musa and Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail for allegedly concocting charges against him. Musa was not at the ceremony.
Musa brush off Mat Zain
On whether Ramli had declared his asset to Musa when the latter still headed the police force as required by procedures, Musa said he has forgotten probably because there were too many asset declarations filed by his subordinates.
To the allegation by another former police officer - former Kuala Lumpur CID chief Mat Zain Ibrahim – who told Malaysiakini that Musa's recent outburst is just another 'sandiwara' to protect Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail, Musa denied it vehemently.
He also dismissed Mat Zain's claim that he had conspired with Abdul Gani to fabricate evidence against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim during the Sodomy I case.
“How to fabricate? I am not a doctor... He can say whatever he wants.”
Musa reiterated that Anwar has asked the former to withdraw his defamation suit after realising that his role in the Sodomy I case has been misunderstood.
“He has a good motive, so I accepted it,” he added.

Ramli and Mat Zain are scheduled to hold a press conference in Petaling Jaya tomorrow to rebut Musa.
