LIST PATI ISSUES IN BN MANIFESTO

THE ISSUE on the grouse made by the Seremban MP John Fernandez that he was totally surprise when he was given a 90 days visitor pass by the Immigration office in Sabah when he visited Kota Kinabalu on Friday last week.

He said as a Malaysian he felt that he is a stranger in his own country. This made him felt that there is some adjustment to be made to the immigration rulings, of cause this is merely his own opinion and feelings. A grouse on this issue from him is understandable.
The Sabah DAP Vice chairman Edward Ewol Mujie said as a local Sabah Bumiputra he understands the particular ruling well, and he noted from the various statement issued by various political parties over the issue especially the one coming from the Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yee Moh Chai. Edward said the grouse from MP John had been blown out of proportion and being used by them as a political issue.

The 6th point-'Immigration' in the 20-points in the Malaysia Agreement stated that:-

“Control over immigration into any parts of Malaysia from outside should rest with the Central Government but entry into North Borneo should also require the approval of the State government. The Federal Government should not be able to veto the entry of persons into North Borneo for State Government purposes except on strictly security ground. North Borneo should have unfettered control over the movements of persons other than those in Federal Government employ from other parts of Malaysia into North Borneo.”

After going through the exact words stated in Point 6, the Federal government has the actual invested power by the clause to act directly over the influx of illegal immigrants into Sabah on security ground. Sadly, what have they done so far? Are these million of PATI not a threat to the Sabah Security?

Why are they entering without passes, and later became PR holders and given Mycard. Why the hundred thousands of our fellow Malaysians from West Malaysia and Sarawak have to come into Sabah with a visitor pass and even have to apply for work passes to be renewable yearly. The PATI came into Sabah without any valid travel document and identity papers can easily stay and work in Sabah. What is the government doing?

The locals here especially the Sabah Bumiputra have been seriously affected by the influx of illegal immigrants. Why the State Government insists strict control over the West Malaysian and Sarawakian who genuinely coming to Sabah to work, to live and to do business.

Many of them who stayed in Sabah for over thirty years are still having their passport being chopped yearly. That’s why the MP John Fernandez felt very funny over this particular immigration ruling. He said the BN “1- Malaysia” slogan is practically a big joke. If this is the case it should be changed into “2-Malaysia” (east and west)! It is right for him to say “I am a stranger in my home land”, especially I am sitting among millions of PATI!

Edward challenges Yee Moh Chai to list in the BN election manifesto “to solve and to remove the illegal immigrant (PTI) from Sabah”, and exercise the power granted by the Point 6 of the 20 points, if not, the BN, especially the PBS will be seen as in breach and abused of the Point 6.

The influx of the PATI has already jeopardized the well being of the Sabahan and Malaysian as a whole. Even worst still, these people (PATI) had become Sabah citizens and have voting rights. When compared to the West Malaysian and Sarawakian who come into Sabah, they still need all the entry and stay permits from the immigration.

It is absolutely ridiculous, “strict control on our own people, but allow PATI to infringe into the rights, well being and privileges of the local Sabahan”. For this we must thank the Seremban MP John Fernandez for bringing up the issue, even thought it was a grouse. We should not ignore a simple grouse from a wise man.

He is better than those BN men who purposely ignoring and keeping absolute silent over the pain faced by the Sabahan. The BN is trying to merely cover up the major issue of PATI coming into Sabah freely and later become Sabahan. Their great “Population Jump” has created a real threat to the Sabahan, and the threats continue.

The Sarawakian and the West Malaysian are listed voters on the Sabah Electoral, and this is as high as 10% of the total. They supported BN in Sabah during the last election, but sadly they were treated as foreigners and have to apply for this and that, and have to fill in a stack of immigration forms as other foreigners. It is real shame! (DAP Media)
