KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 – The opposition’s struggle is simply to gain power, so much so they are willing to gamble on the principles of the party and the people, Puteri Umno chief Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said today.
She said their struggle was often not focused and was always changing, moving from demanding free and fair elections to the environment, ‘hudud’, total equality and such.
“Their struggle seems to be unsteady. In short, they will put up a fight whenever there is a chance and often put aside the real principles of the struggle,” she said in a statement.
Rosnah said PAS and PKR seem to have given up their own struggles and had
submitted to the DAP.
This was unlike Umno which had always adhered to its principles and struggled in the people’s interests, she said.
“I believe the people are wise enough to evaluate the unprincipled struggle of the opposition compared to the essence of the struggles of Umno and the Barisan Nasional which champion the people,” she added. – Bernama
