Ibrahim Ali has gone too far this time

He has done it again. But this time around Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali has pushed it too far by urging Malays to torch all Malay-language Bibles that use the word ‘Allah’ and other Arabic words involving religion.
NONEIbrahim has actually incited the Malays to commit a crime. His senseless incitement is highly seditious and equally inflammatory, in multi-religious, multi-racial Malaysia.
It’s unforgiveable that Ibrahim, who is well aware of the possible explosive consequences of his remarks, carries on without giving two hoots about what he has done.
He is clearly trying to cause a further split in an already divided nation. And it is appalling to note that members of the BN, and leaders close to it, always resort to using the race card as a way of magnifying the culture of fear, in order to hold on to power.
So what I am saying is that Ibrahim is trying to once again pit Malays against non-Malays, not realising that by doing so he is insulting those Malays who see through his shadow puppetry.
This is not the first time that the ultra-Malay leader has indulged in insensitive verbal diarrhoea. He has, one too many times, referred to Chinese and Indian Malaysians as pendatang (immigrants).
On various occasions, he has also told the Chinese and Indians to go back to their country of origin if they raise issues relating to equal rights as citizens of this country.
azlanBut what is even more shocking is the statement by Attorney General Abdul Gani Patail(left), who has said he cannot act on Ibrahim’s seditious remarks unless a copy of the Bible is burnt or a police report is made against the head of Perkasa.
This only goes to show the double standards practised by government agencies and top-ranking civil servants who are not independent and who favour the ruling coalition.
But it is still unspeakable of Abdul Gani to disregard a statement that could potentially lead to chaos if left unchecked.
While I hope Ibrahim will stop fanning racial hatred, I urge Abdul Gani to investigate the seditious and inflammatory remarks that he has already made.
