Malays must stop Umno-BN from bankrupting Malaysia & themselves - Jui Meng

Malays must stop Umno-BN from bankrupting Malaysia & themselves - Jui Meng
Malaysians, especially the Malays in Johor, must stop the Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) from bankrupting the nation.
“Only if the Malays rise against BN-Umno, the rape of the nation’s wealth can be stopped. You must go for change to save Malaysians and Malaysia,” Johor PKR chairman Chua Jui Meng said.
Speaking at a Back To School bag presentation by Muar PKR on Jan 5, Chua said: “In Johor, it appears Syed Mokhtar is the only Malay qualified for mega projects.
“The BN-Umno is making fools out of the majority of Malays. Its agenda for the past 55 years is only to enrich the Umnoputras and their families, and their cronies.
“Johor Mentri Besar Ghani Othman and his BN state government’s use of the Land Acquistion Act 1960 to force the Malays to sell their land cheaply for development is thieving and cruel.”
Think carefully
Chua urged Malays to think carefully and seriously review their traditional support for Umno in the next general election.
“After 55 years, where are you economically? Only the minority Umno elites are well off,” he said.
Chua said the rising cost of essentials was due to the high retail price of fuel and therefore higher transportation costs.
“Malaysia is the 27th largest oil producer in the world, rolling out 693,700 bbl/day. Only 114 countries are listed as oil producing countries in 2009/2010.
“But its retail price of fuel is the highest among the oil-producing countries. Why is this so?” Chua asked.
Anwar, a proven leader
He said PR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who was recognised internationally as the best finance minister in the world, has pledged to eradicate poverty when given the mandate to govern Malaysia.
“Anwar is a proven competent finance minister. He will use all his experience and “no race-based” people-centric fiscal policies to trigger and fast track domestic economic growth.
“His target is to raise family disposal income of the poor, from those with RM1,500 and below to RM4,000 in the first term of PR rule,” he added.
Chua said many BN mega projects were not benefitting Malaysians and “this must change under PR”.
“For example, the socially destructive Rapid (Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development project) benefits Taiwan and other foreign investors, at the expense of Malay ancestral land in Pengerang,” he added.
