PARENTS FURIOUS OVER LATE NOTICE

Dear Editor,

PARENTS and students from the St Francis Convent Primary School are furious and disappointed over the late notice which was distributed on the 11/01/13 by the school management which is headed by the principal. This is in regards to change of physical education (PJK) uniform, standardise name tags and school badge.

Angry parents questioned, why wasn't the official notice distributed at the end of school term last year instead? Why now, its almost middle on January 2013? Most parents had purchase uniforms with embroidery school badges and name tags and at the same time purchasing the sports uniform from a uniform shop at Asia City in Kota Kinabalu.
Most parents we made to understand by the school teachers that this particular shop is the supplier and all this while parents have been channelled to this shop for many years now. If there are any changers, the school management should inform the parents way before the end of last year.

Not all parents can afford to purchase these uniforms for the second time and it is a burden to many, especially Chinese New Year is also round the corner. Parents are seeking the kind consideration of the head mistress to postpone this new ruling till next year.

The school management and the ministry of education should be more sensitive and considerate towards all parents. Not all are 'RICH' The school management led by the principal should have announce this early last year in order for all parents to carry out proper arrangement so that parents will not have to put their hard earned money to waste.

Parents are not objecting to this new ruling as the school management wants all students to have uniformed attire. It is a good move, however, ample time and early notice must be given to the parents. Parents also urge the Parents Teachers Association (PIBG) to assist in this matter for the interest of all.

Best Regards,

BOB RAJAH
