Internet users continue to hurl abuse at the actor over his remarks about Muslims.
PETALING JAYA: Despite having posted apologies on Facebook and Twitter, actor Patrick Yeoh continues to draw anger for his comments about Muslims.
A few seem to have forgiven him, but many are still bitter, judging from comments posted on his Twitter and Facebook pages.
Teoh has apologised twice on Twitter alone.
In the first apology, he wrote: “2 all Muslims my sincere apologies for d offending FB post. It’s been deleted n reasons are there for ur scrutiny. Thank you for ur scrutiny.”
The more recent apology was cast in the following words: “Insulting Islam ws never in my mind. Insulting people who make USE of Islam. Apologies for wrong language used.”
One respondent wrote: “Well, it never eliminate the thought of who the h**l you really are.”
Another tweeted: “Whatever it is, I won’t forgive Patrick Teoh.”
One Facebook user, referring to Teoh’s picture of himself holding a gun, said: “Pls use the gun to shoot your brains out old man!”
Other Facebook users have resorted to vulgar words in venting their anger against Teoh.
But one forgiving Twitter user wrote: “Apology accepted! Let’s move on.” Such relenting responses, however, have been few.
Teoh landed himself in hot water over his reaction on Facebook to the Kedah government’s announcement of dress and performance guidelines for a Feb 15 Chinese New Year function in Alor Star.
He has been criticised for using vulgar words and displaying insensitivity to Muslim feelings. Some have accused him of ridiculing fundamental Islamic practices.
He removed the offending Facebook posting yesterday.
