Claudia Theophilus' funeral mass will take place at the Church of Visitation, in Seremban.
KUALA LUMPUR: The body of Malaysian journalist, Claudia Theophilus, who was accidentally shot dead in Lebanon last Saturday, is expected to arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 9.15 tonight.
In a statement here today, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said the Al Jazeera English editor’s remains was being brought home by her family with the help of the Malaysian Embassy in Beirut and Umno Youth Community Complaints Bureau.
“The late Claudia’s sister Dora Theophilus, 36, a family friend and two Umno Youth representatives have been in Lebanon since Feb 5,” Bernama reported quoting Anifah.
He also conveyed the Ministry’s condolences to her family.
Last Saturday, Claudia, 42, who was based in Al-Jazeera’s Doha, Qatar office, was accidentally shot dead about 2.30 am Lebanon time, while on holiday with her two friends at the Baakleen mountains.

Meanwhile FMT was informed that the funeral mass will take place at 10am on Monday, Feb 11 at the Church of Visitation, Jalan Yam Tuan in Seremban.
Claudia’s family has requested that all media representatives and friends to proceed to the church to pay their last respects.
They have also requested that family members not be photographed or included in video/TV recordings and their photos not posted on social media such as Facebook.
