DAP wants apology from minister as ROS report in
DAP alleged Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein had "lied" when he said the party had yet to submit its annual report to the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
DAP's organising secretary Anthony Loke said today the minister should make a public apology for making a false statement.
Loke, speaking at a press conference at the DAP headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, said the party had sent an annual statement for the year 2012 to ROS in Putrajaya on Feb 8.
Yesterday Hishammuddin reportedly said DAP was supposed to submit its annual report within 60 days after its central executive committee (CEC) election on Dec 12 last year but it had not done so.
The deadline was last Friday.
Loke added that there was evidence in the cover letter which was stamped and signed by the ROS itself (right).
Loke said the annual statements also included two copies of the minutes of the AGM, two copies of Form 9 and copies of account statements till Dec 31, 2012.
He added that a list of names of members of the central executive committee for the period 2012 to 2015 was also included.
Loke said he had doubts of the investigation to be done by ROS.
"We deliberately sent it early before the Chinese New Year. Yet they say we didn’t.
"So what I want to ask is whether there's a conspiracy between Hishammuddin and ROS to revoke DAP's registration as a political party through this technicality?
"How can the wrong information be given to the minister? How are we to have faith in ROS?" fumed Loke.
