'Humiliated' Wanita UMNO deputy chief hints at crossing over

'Humiliated' Wanita UMNO deputy chief hints at crossing over
Not only Wanita UMNO leader Shahrizat Abdul Jalil was given the boot by party president Najib Razak, its deputy Kamalia Ibrahim is also left out in BN's candidates list announced this week.
An angry Kamalia, who also heads the Kuala Kangsar Wanita UMNO, questioned why as the second most senior leader in the movement, she was not given any seat by party leadership.
“The leadership's action is shocking to me as well as to other women," Kamilia (pic), a lawyer by profession, is quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
"I am disappointed because there is no proper recognition given to leaders of Wanita UMNO and BN who represent all women members of UMNO and BN."
Two days ago, Bukit Chandan state assemblyman Wan
Mohd Khairil Anuar was announced as the candidate for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary seat, hoping to replace former Wanita UMNO chief Rafidah Aziz who had earlier announced her retirement.
“Are you saying I’m not as qualified," asked Kamilia when contacted by fz.com.
Several state Wanita chiefs are also not fielded for the coming polls, namely from Kedah, Johor and Terengganu. Likewise, another prominent BN female leader, MCA vice president Dr Ng Yen Yen, has also been left out.
“The leadership should not think that women are indifferent to the recent announcement of candidates. Do not think that women have no feelings.
“If the door is not open for me, I have other avenues to continue the struggle," she warned.
