SHAH ALAM, April 24 — Caretaker Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim denied today that Hindu temples were demolished in Selangor during his administration for the past five years.
Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak alleged last Monday that seven Hindu temples were demolished in the country’s richest state during the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) administration.
“I find that such statements are statements that exaggerate a false matter,” Khalid told reporters at the Selangor exco housing complex here today.
“It’s just stories. We must look at the real incidents,” he added.
The incumbent for the Ijok state seat pointed out that the federal government should learn from the Selangor government on how to manage places of worship like Hindu temples.
“Actually, we must get approval from people before demolishing these temples and we must replace them too. Najib can do research on how we solved the problem about the temple in Section 23, which was relocated to a better place,” said Khalid.
