Man continues with hunger strike

Sanjeeviramah presses on for action against independent Kulim Bandar Baru MP Zulkifli Noordin for belittling Indians and Hindus
PETALING JAYA: S Sanjeeviramah is just an ordinary man, but one with courage of his convictions.
His eagerness to end racist statements and the use of race and religion by politicians to garner votes has resulted in him entering the seventh day of his hunger strike.
He is undertaking his fast because of the government’s inaction against Kulim Bandar Baru MP Zulkifli Noordin for hurting the feelings of the Indian community and Hindus.
Speaking to newsmen recently, Sanjeeviramah said the hunger strike was the last attempt to pressure and seek prompt action against Zulkifli and those taking similar racial lines.
“The were numerous police reports against him but still there is no action from the government and police,” he said.
On March 28, a video clip of Zulkifli appeared on social sites of him giving a speech at an event. In his speech the Independent MP belittled Hindus and mocked the religion.
In the 5:34 minute clip, Zulkifli questions the concept of God and the purity of Hindus in what appears to be a recording at a ceramah.
He recalls his conversation with a Hindu deity trader in the Masjid India area in Kuala Lumpur whose business was hit by a flood.
He then described how an Indian trader selling garlands in the Masjid India area laughed when he asked the businessman why the deities did not protect the shop from the floods.
Zulkifli has since apologised for the remark, saying that it was made 10 years ago when he was a PAS member.
Soon after this, another video appeared showing Zulkifli uttering the word ‘keling’, which is offensive to Malaysian Indians.
It is reported that the new video clip was taken on March 6, this year.
“We want to know why no action is taken against him? Is it alright to insult a race and religion and just issue a apology?” Sanjeeviramah.
He also criticised the Malaysian Hindu Sangam for not taking the issue seriously.
“I strongly believe that they are deliberately skipping this matter because they are closely linked to the government,” he said
