LAHAD DATU, April 3 – The police are looking for a local man using the title ‘Datuk Seri’ to help investigation into cases related to Operation Daulat.
Sabah deputy police commissioner Datuk Tan Kok Liang said Clarence Luing Karl@Muhammad Khalil John L Karl, 57, is sought for suspected ties with the so-called Sultanate of Sulu.
“The suspect whose last known address is RH55, Jalan Ranau Lama, Kampung Bawang, Tamparuli, Sabah should surrender at the nearest police station,” he told a press conference at Operation Daulat base in Felda Sahabat 16, here today.
Without explaining further, Tan said those who knew Clarence Luing Karl should contact Rakan Cop or the nearest police station.
A ‘Datuk Seri’ recently surrendered at Ampang Jaya district police headquarters in connection with Operation Daulat and was detained under the Security Offences Act (Special Measures) 2012 (Sosma).
Tan said 1,299 people were allowed to return home yesterday after three evacuation centres in Cenderawasih, Gemala Pura dan Fajar Harapan were closed.
Only 106 people from 17 families are still at Embara Budi  evacuation centre as their houses were badly damaged.
There was no fighting since March 28 but security forces are still present in all locations.

“The operation area is safe, so don’t be afraid to exercise your right to vote,” he added. – Bernama
