Only competent govt can ensure continuity of transformation agenda: Muhyiddin

LEDANG, April 11 – Only a credible, experienced and competent government can ensure the continuity of the country’s transformation agenda, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said hence, the people needed to make a wise choice in the 13th general election for the next seven years was crucial in the march towards a developed nation status.
The Barisan Nasional (BN) government has an excellent track record in its conviction to fulfil promises made, he added.
“As some promises cannot be achieved within five years, we need another five-year mandate to ensure that they can be implemented, thus putting Malaysia on the path of success,” he said when opening the Bukit Serampang Clinic here today.
He said the government’s track record could be gauged from its achievements such as improving the standards of living of the people, education attainment and healthcare services.
“The life expectancy of Malaysians has risen and this is a testimony that our healthcare services have improved over the years,” he added.
Urging the people not to be hoodwinked by the opposition’s promises and slander against the government, he said the opposition was now keen to take over Johor for it was bestowed with crown jewels like Iskandar Malaysia and the RM100 billion oil and gas industry in Pengerang.
“So why should we allow other people to stir up Johor. They want a piece of the pie even though they have not contributed anything to the growth of the state.
“We are now on the right track with the BN chairman at the helm to become a developed country in 2020. Why should we allow ourselves to be derailed by others,” he added.
