Pensiangan & Sook: PBRS will contest in both - Kurup

Pensiangan & Sook: PBRS will contest in both - Kurup
Kota Kinabalu- Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) President Tan Sri Joseph Kurup will defend the Pensiangan Parliamentary seat in the 13th General Election.
Met upon arrival from Kuala Lumpur at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport here, Kurup confirmed to Daily Express that apart from Pensiangan, PBRS would also be defending the Sook State Seat that it won in the last election.
In fact, he said PBRS had received additional seats but in the end the party agreed with the Prime Minister that PBRS would be given "compensation" in terms of other posts later.
"We are satisfied with the outcome of the meeting because there's nothing much for us to go on," he said, adding that PBRS would definitely be given additional seats once the re-delineation of the electoral boundary is completed.
Asked if he was confident with the party defending the two seats for the Barisan Nasional (BN), he said:
"We are confident but we don't want to underestimate the other person.
We still have to work hard and we are working out a strategy in the hope we will be able to convince our supporters."
Kurup won the Pensiangan seat uncontested in 2008, a result that was upheld by the court after it was challenged by the disqualified candidate then.
PBRS won the Sook seat through its Deputy President Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin.
Greeting Kurup at the airport were PBRS committee members led by Ellron.
