Top Umno leader beat me up, alleges man

A police report has been lodged against a senior Umno leader for assault last week. 

According to the report sighted by Malaysiakini, the incident took place in Putrajaya on April 5 at around 11.30am with the report being filed at 5.13pm

The complainant said that the incident occurred when he met the Umno leader to seek help for some problems he was facing.

"As soon as I entered the office, (the Umno leader) slapped me about five times and kicked me on my back. 

"I didn't know why he had acted that way. I experienced pain in the face and on my back, but I did not sustain any injuries," the brief report read.

The complainant added that he had lodged the police report for fear that the incident might recur. 

"I am lodging this report out of free will without coercion from any individual," the 50-year-old said.

When contacted, the police station where the report was lodged confirmed its existence. 

Malaysiakini is withholding the identity of the Umno leader pending his comment.
