Voters in Kuiala Langat pulled out four men from the voting line thinking they were foreigners
PETALING JAYA: Four voters who looked like foreigners were pulled out of the line by others who were in the voting queue in Kuala Langat.
The four men who were pulled out claimed that they were born in Malaysia but their parents were from India.
They were reported to the Election Commission officials, who then started to investigate the matter.
Sources say that the EC officials then allowed two of them to get back in line after their documents were inspected.
Sources also confirmed that the two allowed to vote were seen with birth certificates which looked rather new as opposed to how the document will look like after many years.
The other two are still being investigated.
Electoral watchdog Pemantau’s officials are not happy with the decision made by EC’s men, claiming that there was no proper investigation before letting them back in the line after only 30minutes.
The parliamentary seat in Kuala Langat is being contested by BN’s Shahruddin Omar, PKR’s Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid and an independent candidate K. S. Kottapan
