I'm no Romeo, says DAP Likas candidate

DAP Likas candidate Junz Wong had let things slide when photos modified to make him appear like a womaniser started to pass around among youth voters in Kota Kinabalu on social media and messenger application Whatsapp.

But when people started calling him to ask if he had paid off and abandoned a girl he had allegedly gotten pregnant, he decided to speak out.

"It is not true. The person alleging this through an anonymous Facebook account must come forward if it's true, as I would want to be responsible, but it's not true.

NONE"People may say I'm a rising star in politics but that does not make me a Romeo," he told a press conference yesterday.

Junz (left, in photo) is also speaking out as the smear tactics involves his childhood friends, who are now married and whose pictures are used in the graphics in circulation.

The graphics feature Junz, 33, with lots of different women, which he claimed are cropped from pictures of him and his group of friends on Facebook.

The latest edition compares him with Nedim Nazri, the son of caretaker minister in the prime minister's department Nazri Abdul Aziz, whose photographs with women have also circulated on social media.

"My friend, Koh Chee Liong wanted to attend this press conference but his wife, whose picture is being used, is heavily pregnant and is due anytime now.

"He is threatening to take legal action in order to clear his wife's name and challenges the person behind the accusations to come forward."

'How can I sleep with all of them?'

He claimed that most of the photographs which are still uploaded in his Facebook account are from more than three years ago, before he joined politics.

"As young people, we went clubbing and drinking. All these girls are from the same group of friends. How can I be sleeping with all of them?" he asked.

Wong is also facing SAPP president Yong Teck Lee for the seat which is within the Kota Kinabaluconstituency.
DAP Kota Kinabalu candidate and Sabah DAP chairperson Jimmy Wong (right) condemned the smear campaign, adding that Junz is an upstanding Christian.

"I have known him for three years and he is a good boy," he said.
