GO AHEAD, CALL FOR EGM - Soi Lek threatens to expose 'come late, leave early' Donald Lim

GO AHEAD, CALL FOR EGM - Soi Lek threatens to expose 'come late, leave early' Donald Lim
After the MCA suffered its worst electoral defeat in the last General Election, the blame game begins.
There are many party leaders from divisions to central who launched personal attack against me but I am not shocked nor nervous because those who attacked me are traditionally my enemies within the Party.
Many Central Committee members were very quiet and low profile for the past 5 years be it inside or outside the Party and out of sudden, they have become so active and outspoken and this is their true colour for being good only in party infighting.
I choose to remain quiet because I seriously feel that MCA could not afford to undergo another round of infighting especially after the GE and it serves no purpose for the leaders to air dirty linen in the public.
Why is Donald blaming me!
Party vice-president Datuk Donald Lim has been very high profile recently in claiming that the decision not to accept any government posts was a wrong decision made by me.
I would like to stress that since I was not holding any government posts, I had consulted all MCA Ministers and Deputy Minister including Lim on the idea of not accepting government posts if MCA performed worse than the 12th GE and all of them had supported the idea unanimously.
During the Presidential Council meeting on April 29, 2011, I had proposed that the council members to vote on the idea and all council members felt that it was unnecessary and the resolution was passed.
The Central Committee had later passed the resolution on June 2, the same year. The resolution was also passed in the 2011 and again in the 2012 Annual General Meeting (AGM) by the central delegates.
For the record, Lim had attended all the above meetings mentioned although he had used to be fashionably late and leave early before the meetings ended.
Go ahead, call for EGM!
Perhaps Lim might have forgotten that he had taken part in passing the resolution to reject all government posts and if there is a need, I would not be hesitate to publish all the related meeting minute so that he could refresh his memory on what transpired during the meetings.
Lim should understand well that it was a collective decision not just by the central leadership but also the delegates, which all of us should respect. He should also know it well that the decision could only be overturned through the AGM or Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) by the delegates.
I welcome him to call for an EGM if he finds that the decision was a wrong one to make.
Closed-door debate!
I would like to also propose that Lim and I should have a closed-door debate on the decision not to accept government posts if Lim is so interested in this topic.
I advise Lim that before criticising the others, he should review himself as the party-appointed Deputy Minister, what he had contributed to the nation and especially Selangor, when he had only spent most of his resources and time on one particular constituency.
As for the Party President post, Lim can choose to support anyone as President, but he cannot stop anyone from contesting for the post.
Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek
