PKR: Wan Ahmad's criticism shows he is pro-BN

Election Commission (EC) deputy chief Wan Ahmad Wan Omar has proven he is partisan to BN by calling opposition MPs "hypocrites" because they intend to take their MP oaths, says PKR Youth.

NONEPKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin (left in photo) said as the EC is required to be non-partisan, Wan Ahmad has proven to be unfit for his post and should resign.

“We have the EC deputy who rightfully should be non-partisan and independent.

"By issuing the comment as he has had, it shows what we have claimed before this is correct, that EC is headed by leaders who side with a particular party," Shamsul said at a press conference in Petaling Jaya today.

"We consider it is wrong for a civil servant to show bias and support for the ruling coalition BN, and Wan Ahmad is not fit to hold the EC leadership that should be independent."

Yesterday, Wan Ahmad criticised Pakatan Rakyat MPs for agreeing to be sworn in as MPs on June 24 despite claiming that the 13th general election was rife with fraud.

However, BN leaders had earlier criticised Pakatan for mulling calls to boycott Parliament, claiming the opposition would be irresponsible to their voters.
‘EC’s statement like kindergarten politics’

Meanwhile, PAS Youth information committee member Mohd Yusof Hadhari slammed Wan Ahmad for “putting on an unprofessional and childish front” that reflects “kindergarten politics”.

“I am disappointed with his statement, which is similar to (Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s) comment asking those who are not satisfied with the electoral system to migrate

“It will be silly to replace the entire house when you can just fix its broken windows," Mohd Yusof said in a statement.
“Is Wan Ahmad challenging Pakatan to use other means, besides the democratic way of taking power?
“Also, why hasn’t the EC successfully implemented the indelible ink yet, when other countries like India, Indonesia and Egypt have successfully carried out the same procedure?” he asked.

On May 5, numerous voters lodged police reports claiming that the indelible ink the EC put on the index finders of those voting could be easily removed, instead of lasting several days as the EC had claimed.
